If you have Filipino friends who know the places or are born here in Masbate Philippines . If you are somehow in the period 06-07 October of the year. It is a family holiday “- Fiesta di famiglia” surrounds the village of “Poblacion is a barangay in the municipality of Cawayan, in the province of Masbate. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 4,311. This represented 6.22% of the total population of Cawayan.”

It is celebrated with a big food party music and religion together.  From the place where you pray, the small neighborhood church, practically from the gate of the holy church, you enter directly to the party. Where the people dance, the pig is on the table ready for dinner, group games are played.  They really know how to have fun even if they don’t have many possibilities.  It is another world, culture, an untapped and beautiful place but with small utility resources. It would be advisable to go with a person who knows these places well because foreigners have not seen much in this village.

We were three sisters different from them being Europeans, we were lucky to have the friend of one of my sisters who was of Filipino origin but left in the EU for a very long time.  He was with us and his family but they had to hire us as guards. Being very dangerous, especially poverty, there are political conflicts and we were the only Europeans at that time. I don’t even know if there was anyone else besides us. People were coming after us, especially the children who were following us and trying to touch our skin.  I couldn’t go out alone without guards. To be continued…
